ARTPIX is dedicated to presenting and archiving contemporary art for educational, experimental, documentary and archival purposes, and makes use of the multimedia capabilities of CD-ROM, DVD, and DVD-ROM formats to expand and enhance the experience of contemporary art.
Upcoming projects include the continuing collaboration with Experiments in Art and Technology (E.A.T.) to publish documentary footage of "9 Evenings: Theatre & Engineering," a program in which 10 New York artists worked with more than 30 engineers and scientists from Bell Telephone Laboratories to create works that incorporated new technologies for a series of performances presented October 13 - 23, 1966 at the 69th Regiment Armory in New York. Artists included John Cage, Lucinda Childs, Oyvind Fahlström, Alex Hay, Deborah Hay, Steve Paxton, Yvonne Rainer, Robert Rauschenberg, David Tudor and Robert Whitman.
Other releases include multi-DVD projects featuring work of Trisha Brown in collaboration with Robert Rauschenberg and that of performance artist Michael Smith.
