ARTPIX 1

CD-ROM, 1998

ARTPIX 1 presents four projects by artists from four different countries chosen by two curators: Thomas Lawson, head of visual arts at the California Institute of the Arts in Valencia, and Dan Cameron, former chief curator at the New Museum in New York. The four artists include Rosangela Renno, multimedia artist from Brazil who deals with memory as fragmentary experience; Fil Ruting, an Australian living in Los Angeles, who works with parallel narratives; Marina Rosenfeld, a composer and installation artist from the United States; and Hale Tenger, a Turkish artist who uses film and installation for her work to address political and cultural issues. Three of these projects are artists’ original new media projects created specifically for the CD-ROM, and the fourth documents an artist’s installation at the Istanbul Biennial.
